The American Gaming Association has unveiled a new code of conduct for casinos in an effort to promote what the industry calls "responsible gaming."
The revamped code calls on AGA members to provide a toll-free help line for people dealing with gambling problems, to make publicly available the probability of winning and losing at certain games, and to make casino policies and practices available online. The code also establishes guidelines for serving alcoholic beverages and advertising.
"AGA is committed to leading the effort to ensure our customers enjoy the casino gaming industry responsibly," AGA CEO Geoff Freeman said. "Our updated Code of Conduct will ensure our members and their employees have the tools needed to ensure a safe, responsible experience for all customers."
The code is now applicable to all forms of gaming—land-based, mobile and interactive, AGA said in a statement. The guidelines had previously applied primarily to land-based gaming.
The revised document was released Tuesday as part of AGA's Responsible Gaming Education Week, which highlights industry efforts to crack down on gaming abuse. http://bit.ly/2f92eyh
